Let every update be a reminder of His faithfulness and an invitation to be part of His ongoing work.
The Maulion Family from the Philippines is one of the newest members of SSPF, and their testimony is a powerful reminder of God’s undeniable power, blessings, and faithfulness. Their story is one of waiting, trusting, and ultimately rejoicing in God’s perfect timing.
Bro. Rowell Maulion, who hails from a town a few hours south of Manila, was once a follower of the Mormon faith. In 2011, while working in Qatar, he first encountered the Lord and surrendered his life to Him. A few years later, in 2013, Sis. Juvelyn, originally from a neighboring province, also welcomed Christ into her life.
The two first met in 2007, and when Bro. Rowell returned to the Philippines in 2013, they married and began their life together. From the beginning of their marriage, however, they faced the challenge of physical distance. Bro. Rowell worked in various countries including Saudi Arabia and Africa, while Sis. Juvelyn remained in the Philippines, raising their two sons, Bro. Christian Dave and Bro. Christian Paul.
Separated by oceans, the Maulions found strength in prayer. Bro. Rowell remembers many nights of longing for his family, yet he held tightly to the promise of God’s Word:
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:6
God’s direction eventually led them to New Zealand in 2023. But the waiting was not over. Sis. Juvelyn recalls the difficulty of their first months in a new land—homesickness, tears, and the constant pull to video call their boys back in the Philippines. She held on to the hope of Isaiah 60:22: “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”
This year, God answered their prayers—their family was finally reunited in New Zealand. The joy of being together after years of waiting is something they carry with deep gratitude. Their sons, Dave and Paul, also leaned on Scripture as they faced the challenges of transition. They hold dear Isaiah 43:19 and Jeremiah 33:3 as their guiding verses.
"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert" - Isaiah 43:19
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." - Jeremiah 33:3
Dave, now adjusting to school life in New Zealand, jokingly shares how unlike the Philippines, “bad weather here doesn’t mean school gets cancelled.” Despite the cultural adjustments, both boys have found joy in continuing their passion for music and have recently joined SSPF’s Music Ministry.
Today, the Maulion family is firmly planted in their new home at SSPF. Bro. Rowell serves in the Men’s Ministry, while Sis. Juvelyn is actively involved in the Ladies, Praise & Worship, and Hospitality Ministries. Their sons contribute their musical gifts to worship, serving the Lord with gladness.
Looking back, the Maulions testify that even in their years of separation and uncertainty, God was working. He was strengthening them in the waiting, blessing them in the waiting, and preparing them in the waiting.
Their story is a living reminder for all of us that no season of waiting is wasted in the hands of God—for in His perfect time, there is victory in waiting.

On the 5th and 6th of July 2025, Southside Pentecostal Fellowship held two powerful and spirit-filled evangelistic services—the Filipino Evangelistic Service and the Outpouring Evangelistic Service. These special gatherings were attended by 115 and 120 saints respectively, united in worship, expectation, and a shared vision to see souls brought into the Kingdom of God.
We were greatly honoured and blessed to have Senior Pastor Steve Kebasen and Sis. Annie Kebasen from the International Apostolic Church of Thailand minister to us over the two-day event. Their anointed preaching and heartfelt ministry stirred the hearts of many and ignited a renewed passion for evangelism among our church family.
We are overjoyed to report that during these two services:
Four souls received the gift of the Holy Ghost, and
Two were baptised in the precious name of Jesus!
Heaven rejoices with us, and we give all glory to God for this wonderful harvest!
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
— Acts 2:38 (KJV)
This weekend also marked a significant milestone—the 20th year of SSPF’s ongoing mission to reach every corner of Auckland with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Two decades of faithful service, unwavering prayer, and relentless outreach have laid the foundation for what we believe is only the beginning of an even greater harvest.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
Our mission remains the same: to embrace, equip, and evangelise. We are committed to preparing the church for the harvest that the Lord has prepared for New Zealand. As we move forward, may we continue to labour together, walk in unity, and be led by the Spirit in all that we do.
“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”
— John 4:35 (KJV)
We thank every saint who prayed, invited, served, and believed. Let us continue to seek the Lord for greater things yet to come. The harvest is truly plentiful—to God be the glory!
